MICRO BAGS

The growing popularity of small, mini, and micro bags in fashion has been a significant trend, driven by their playful appeal and high emotional value. As a designer at Coach, I helped the brand gradually tap into this market by introducing multiple mini and micro bags, carefully testing customer interest in these novelty pieces. These designs quickly resonated with consumers, and the mini versions of popular styles became a staple in both retail and outlet collections. As demand grew, many of our iconic bags were reimagined in micro form, solidifying their status as must-have accessories for our die-hard customers.

At Michael Kors, I worked hard to push the brand toward introducing mini and micro bags for men, despite it being a departure from the brand's typically subdued and reserved aesthetic. With high fashion houses already embracing the trend, I saw an opportunity to explore this space for the men’s division. Through slow and deliberate introductions of highly functional mini and micro bags, I was able to create a new category of gifting. These compact designs quickly gained traction and became some of the best-selling products in the men’s division, proving that the brand could successfully embrace an innovative trend while staying true to Michael Kors.

At Coach, I pushed the micro bag concept even further by designing miniature versions made entirely of solid metal, transforming the iconic bag shapes into high-end charms. These tiny metal replicas captured the essence of Coach's heritage while offering a bold, kitschy statement—turning functional accessories into collectible jewelry that added a unique twist to the brand’s storytelling.
